Solicitors Instructing Investigators: Understand your risk. A GDPR industry revolution

Thursday 17th May, The Innovation Centre, Binley Business Park, Coventry, CV3 2TX

  • The current unlicensed investigation industry.
  • Who are the investigators?
  • Few investigators have PI insurance
  • The industry is unregulated
  • The business model is an association model where your data is passed from one investigator to another without due diligence being conducted.
  • How is your data stored by an investigator?
  • How is your data stored and recorded as it passed from investigator to investigator.
  • The PR risk to a legal practice in using a non compliant investigator.
  • How to mitigate your risk

Simple requirements from a Solicitor to an investigator are now governed by GDPR. This could include a process serve, a trace or asset report or observations, field visit, computer forensics or surveillance.
